My name is Danja, and I am an animal rights activist out of a deep conviction that a peaceful, compassionate and just world is possible for all living beings on this planet.<\/p>\n
When I went vegan, as a woman, I was particularly dismayed by the dairy industry. Especially since, as a vegetarian, I thought that if I didn’t eat animals, I wasn’t harming them. I decided that I had to actively do something about all this suffering. Just doing it differently like everyone else, and silently watching is just not enough. I realized what a gift it is that I have a voice that I can raise, and that I am relatively free to choose my path. Animals don’t have these opportunities. Therefore, it was clear to me: I use my freedom and my voice to fight for the freedom of those who are deprived of any rights and whose voices are not heard.<\/p>\n
I tried different things: This form of activism, as we do it, is for me personally the most effective way to reach people and make a difference.<\/p>\n
What I love about Circle of Compassion is that while our work focuses on the rights of non-human animals, our compassion doesn’t end with them. Speciesism, or discrimination based on species, is just one of many forms of discrimination. These forms of discrimination are often interconnected, and in our view can only be ended by rejecting them as a whole. Because: Every injustice is injustice and one too many!<\/p>\n

I work full-time as a senior project manager and part-time as a photographer and nutritionist.<\/p>\n
Since childhood, I have had a strong sense of justice and have always stood up for the weaker ones. A few years ago, I realised that I was blind to the greatest injustice that was happening day after day right in front of my eyes. Even worse – I was part of it myself!<\/p>\n
Food, clothing, cosmetics, entertainment, medicine – violence against animals has many facets, and each is equally cruel and unnecessary. For as long as I can remember, I have felt a deep connection to nature and to our fellow inhabitants on this earth – the animals. At the beginning of 2023, when I realized the exploitation of animals, I decided to choose a vegan lifestyle for them. It was the least I could do. I couldn’t let go of the issue – I felt a huge responsibility and knew I had to do more. I wanted to give the animals my voice.<\/p>\n
Since then, I have spent my free time campaigning for animals in various activist organizations, including Circle Of Compassion. Together with Fabian, I am now bringing the Circle’s work to the Rhine Valley. My big dream is to one day work for the animals professionally.<\/p>\n
I am fighting for justice, an end to speciesism, mass slaughter and the exploitation of animals – and for peaceful coexistence between all living beings.<\/p>\n

I study philosophy and German language and literature at the University of Zurich and campaign for justice in my free time. In my youth, I co-initiated the climate movement in Liechtenstein and later joined the Liechtenstein Youth Council, the Young List (FL) and the Young Greens (CH).<\/p>\n
It still took me some time to recognize one of the most serious injustices: Speciesism and the associated systematic oppression and exploitation of billions of non-human animals. For the past year, I have been taking to the streets in various parts of Switzerland and raising my voice for those who are being silenced. I work as a qualified nurse HF in a psychiatric clinic. In addition to my job, I invest my time and energy in various animal rights and animal welfare organizations to actively make a difference. At Circle of Compassion, I mainly organize the events in St.Gallen. As a convinced vegan, I am against any kind of animal exploitation. From an early age, I felt a strong connection to our animal companions. Although I didn’t want to and couldn’t eat my friends from an early age, I didn’t realize the full extent of the cruel facets of our \u201clivestock\u201d farming and killing for a long time.
