A report in Der Bund on March 5, 2025 showed on the one hand that animals have various amazing properties, and on the other hand, in the same article, mice are presented as very suitable for animal experiments. This is the rebuttal:
The report shows that science is discovering more and more amazing animal characteristics that we were previously unable or unwilling to recognize. Unfortunately, however, these discoveries do not make us any more human than our fellow animals. On the contrary: as if it were the most normal thing in the world, the report describes the suitability of mice as laboratory animals. Apart from the fact that this suitability is scientifically controversial, we should finally stop using them as actual production machines for food and clothing and as laboratory animals for experiments. All animal exploitation should be a thing of the past in the 21st century.
