On Friday, February 14, 2025, the St. Galler Tagblatt published a celebratory article about xenotransplantation of pig kidneys into humans. The letter to the editor about this was printed in last Friday’s edition.
The promoters of the transplantation of animal organs into humans provide the arguments against this impossible form of therapy themselves: since the 1980s they have been predicting the imminent breakthrough, 45 years later a patient has to call herself Superwomen because she has survived the longest with a pig organ to date: A whole two months! Nevertheless, the “pioneers” present “their” therapy with pride, but without any reference to the countless human and animal victims it has left behind over the decades. And they also have the audacity to point out the minimal victims of dialysis therapy, which are guaranteed to be infinitely smaller than their own victims. At some point, after decades, you have to admit that a form of therapy with practically zero chances of success and ethically questionable animal sacrifice has failed and should be abandoned for good!
